New Policy
on Submitting and Accepting Sponsored Projects
The Regents approved a
new policy on Submitting and Accepting Sponsored Projects. This
policy identifies the circumstances under which University faculty,
staff, and students are eligible to submit proposals for sponsored
projects and the conditions under which the University will accept
such awards.
This policy replaces the former policies on Principal Eligibility
on Sponsored Projects, dated November 12, 1999 and Delegation of
Authority: Sponsored Grants and Contracts, dated December 11, 1992.

New
Procedure to Facilitate Indirect Cost Recovery Associated with Interdisciplinary
Projects
Effective December 1,
2005, the OVPR implemented a new procedure to facilitate indirect
cost recovery associated with interdisciplinary projects. This procedure
takes advantage of the University's financial system to allow indirect
cost revenues to flow to the colleges whose faculty participate
in interdisciplinary research, and eliminates the limit on the number
of projects that can be set up with multiple accounts.
The procedure is optional for PIs. It establishes criteria for sharing
of indirect cost recovery revenue and describes what must be done
to implement revenue sharing for interdisciplinary projects.
