(a) Sponsored Research includes expenditures on accounts with orgs 6000-9999 and function codes 1100, 1120 and 1140.
(b) Sponsored Training and Public Service includes expenditures on accounts with orgs 6000-9999 and function codes 0300, 0330, 2100 and 2150.
(c) Departmental research represents expenditures on accounts with funds 1195-1199, 18XX, orgs less than 6000 and function codes 1110 and 1140.
(d) Special appropriations for research includes funds for agricultural research from the federal government
and special state appropriations for general agricultural research, medical research and other special research
projects. These data include expenditures on funds 1400-1555 orgs less than 6000, and function code 1110.
(e) Training, Public Service and Student Aid include expenditures from educational opportunity grants, scholarships,
fellowships, work study programs and other gifts and grants for training and public service programs which are not
administered by Sponsored Projects Administration. These data include expenditures on funds 1810-1899 and 1400-1555 with orgs less than 6000, and function
codes 0320 and 2110.
Expenses on accounts with object codes 9XXX are excluded from this report.
